VIVAnews - Energy and Mineral Resources Department has made an investigation on the delayed oil production at the Cepu block. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said that the ministry had asked the oil and gas production acceleration and improvement team to analyze the cause of the failing oil target at the block, which is managed by Pertamina and Mobil Cepu Limited, ExxonMobil's subsidiary.
"We have sent the team to analyze the delay," he said in Jakarta on Sept. 16.
He also mentioned that the team has been working since the start of the month. The team is established because the department has to fulfil its responsibility as the technical department.
However, the team establishment is not related to the letter sent by Pertamina to the upstream regulator (BP Migas), considering Pertamina's proposal to become the block's operator. Pertamina is now a partner to ExxonMobil.
