ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting

VIVAnews - The ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Foreign Ministers Meeting was held at the ASEAN Secretariat building in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Monday, 15 December 2008.

The meeting was attended by the ASEAN Secretary General, nine foreign ministers of ASEAN countries, Thailand's Minister for Information and Telecommunication, as well Indonesian President Yudhoyono. Several ambassadors of non-ASEAN countries also attended the meeting, such as US Ambassador Cameron Hume and Russian Ambassador Alexander Ivanov.

The meeting marked a historic occassion because it was there and then that the ASEAN Charter was officially entered into force.
